In Joined At The Head, Maggie Mulroney has a dream about her dead father, and halfway through she tells him, he’s dead. And then he gets upset and leaves. And I had that dream last night with Chris. We were laughing, and playing. And then he took my hand and looked at me, and was chastising me about some of the stuff I’ve been into lately and I looked at him laughing and smiling and told him he couldn’t talk to me like that since he was dead. And his eyes filled with tears and he let go of my hand and left me. I woke up in a sweat tangled in the sheets, alone. I’m afraid to sleep.
